Sustainability

Making good products honestly.

We're a young brand. This page is an honest account of where we are, not a list of aspirational claims we haven't earned yet. We'll update it as we do the work.

Manufacturing

Made in Melbourne

Our manufacturing facility is in Elsternwick, Victoria. Local production means shorter freight chains, faster quality control, and the ability to respond to partner needs in days rather than weeks.

Every bite is made in Australia, under Australian food safety standards, with direct oversight of every production run. We don't offshore manufacturing — not for cost reasons, but because product integrity depends on proximity to the process.

Ingredients

Short supply chain. No fillers.

The Espresso Bite has three ingredients: cocoa butter, coffee, sugar. The latte and macchiato variants add milk powder. The Oat Latte variant uses oat milk powder. That's the entire list.

No artificial flavours. No preservatives. No emulsifiers, stabilisers, or additives. The simplicity is by design — fewer ingredients means the coffee flavour is unobscured, and there's nothing to declare that isn't genuinely in the product.

Packaging

An honest answer

Each bite is individually wrapped in flow-wrap film. We'll be direct: this is plastic. The individual wrapping is necessary for product integrity — it maintains the aroma seal and prevents the bites from blooming or absorbing ambient moisture in transit and on the shelf.

We are actively investigating compostable and biodegradable flow-wrap alternatives. The materials exist; the challenge is finding a supplier that meets our volume requirements and seal quality standards. We are targeting a packaging refresh for 2025 and will update this page with specifics when we have them — not before.

We won't make a sustainability claim about packaging until we've solved it.

Social impact

Change by World Vision

Our partnership with Change — a coffee roaster owned by World Vision Australia — means that purchasing the Change Latte (Soy) or Change Espresso directly funds World Vision's humanitarian programs: clean water access, education, and emergency relief.

This is not a donation mechanism layered onto a commercial product. Change is structurally owned by World Vision. Its profits are organisationally committed to the mission. Every sale of a Change bite flows through to that funding base.

Impact per purchase

Every Change Espresso and Change Latte (Soy) bite sold contributes to World Vision's programs. Specific impact reporting is published by World Vision — see their annual reports for details.
